Butterflies, the beach & amazing people!! When you have Michelle Warren DeBilzan as your family photographer you never know what fun your kids will have! This video is a little promo video I put together for Michelle when we shot side by side with Kim & her 2 girls! Always fun times!!

Michelle Warren is one of my great photographer friends that I have tons of fun working with on weddings. When she asked me last year to shoot her and Ben with their new boy Cash, I was over joyed. This year they are adding a new addition to the family and asked me once again to shoot. This time I shot along side Megan Sorel, another awesome photographer, as they were having family photos taken. What fun the day turned out to be! I had the best time following this beautiful family around as we got to capture such wonderful memories for them. I cannot wait to meet their new little boy in just a few short weeks! Congratulations Michelle & Ben on your growing family!

Family shoots are like a breath of fresh air, especially with these 2 little girls. I had the best time following them around and capturing what they do best…being themselves. Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse Wedding | Super 8mm Film | Megan & Clay

It was truly a honor to work on Megan & Clay’s wedding at Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse. I was introduced to Megan & Clay through my husband (Josh) as they had hired his DJ service (Goodbeat Productions) for their wedding entertainment. As it turns out, they had no interest in digital videography, but LOVED the idea of filming the wedding on Super 8mm. You see, Megan comes from a long family line of television & film professionals. As a Senior Producer of American Idol and working in that industry… film was right up her alley.

The Big Question… NOT “Will You Marry Me?”, but rather “Is It Gonna Rain On My Wedding Day?”

Yes, that was the Big Question Megan couldn’t get out of her head… “Is it gonna rain on my wedding day?” The forecast did NOT look good. Weather.com (and all other on-line weather websites) said nothing but Rain, Rain, Rain!! I recall Megan speaking about this at the “welcome reception” at Mattie’s Tavern | Los Olivos, Ca the evening before the wedding. She said she became OBSESSED with ALL the different weather website’s and had to check the forecast EVERYDAY!! (leading up to the wedding). But then she said, “Tomorrow, I’m NOT gonna check the forecast. If it rains, it rains. The thing that I’m most thankful for (and happy about) is that tomorrow, I get to marry the man I love”. From that point on, it was clear we were gonna have a fabulous wedding, with or without fabulous weather.

…Needless to say, “It Rained”

Did that mean Megan & Clay’s wedding was ruined, it was over and that the whole thing would be a wedding disaster? Not at all!! Matter of fact, It was an AWESOME wedding and wedding day!! We had a BLAST!! and so did everyone else!! The bride & groom “just went with it”. They embraced it, and had the best wedding day ever!!! Don’t believe us… watch the film and see how much FUN everyone had!! It really just goes to show “a perfect wedding day is NOT purchased, it’s MADE”. And Megan & Clay (along with all their wedding guest) “Made It” the PERFECT WEDDING DAY!!!

When Gracelia called me & told me that she was having an intimate wedding and absolutely had to have Super 8mm film as the main way to capture their wedding, I was super excited! She wasn’t concerned about photography but wanted a movie picture like she remembered from her childhood. I think their wedding film fits them perfectly.

Graciela & David have very eclectic tastes in music, love just about any & everything, so when I heard this song, I knew I had to use it for them! I also brought along my Holga camera to snap a couple rolls of film for them as well as you can see below.…the 2 formats just go hand in hand and they are priceless.
